Opening on Friday 26th March, Kukui will be the newest and most stylish addition to Bournemouth’s burgeoning nightlife. Situated at the bottom of Richmond Hill, Kukui will recreate the tropical paradise of the South Pacific with two floors of luxurious Tiki interiors, exotic signature cocktails and expert programming.
Exuding a unique blend of high end sophistication and light hearted playfulness, Kukui will be the ideal destination bar and club for Bournemouth’s discerning, but fun loving crowds.
Having successfully launched Kukui in Oxford, which boasts the likes of Emma Watson and Luke Pasqualino as regulars, Kukui Bournemouth is the brains of London entrepreneur, Harvey Sinclair (owner of Coco Club in Switzerland) and business partner Stuart Kerley, former Operations Manager at PoNaNa Group and co-owner of the Oxford Retreat.
With an overall capacity of 500, Kukui Bournemouth is split into two levels, a light filled 100 capacity cocktail bar and seating area upstairs, and a 400 capacity lounge and club downstairs complete with a long bar, VIP booths and dance floor. Designed by Cheeky Tiki, (Mahiki, Kanaloa, Sugar Cane) Kukui’s lavish design has been created using all natural materials and features bamboo tables, raffia walls and palm leaf covered ceilings. Boasting striking stand out features such as a beautiful gold leaf wall by Armourcoat, authentic hand carved wooden Tiki art and two sunset light-boxes, the venue’s pièce de résistance is a real waterfall cascading into the entrance.
Kukui’s Passport to Paradise cocktail menu is packed with stamps and tickets or luscious flavours and colourful concoctions, all with a Tiki tribal feel. Featuring an array of outlandish sharing drinks, Kukui’s delicious cocktails are a show in themselves. Served in spectacular style by Hula Hula Girls and Honolulu Hunks, the drinks come in quirkily designed tins, puncheon barrels, bamboo rafts and Kukui’s trademark wooden boats.
